Organic Sculpture: ...Like coral, antlers, egg-shapes, driftwood, starfish and shells, even rock crystal. Nothing is more pleasing to the eye than forms created by nature. Place them like you would a fine piece of sculpture, on an occasional table, bookshelf or in a glass-door cabinet. Let a large piece stand on its own or group smaller, similarly-toned pieces.

Casual Drama: Use a casual material in a dramatic way, such as a bunch of pillar candles on a dining table, striking texture like seagrass on a throw pillow, strong silhouettes done in natural materials like rattan, ceramic and rope, bold pattern on cotton, and anything coral or shell-encrusted (like this candelabra, above).
Strategically Messy Beds: Lay a folded duvet diagonally over a coverlet, prop some pillows up while others lie flat. Mix it up for a fresh take. But make sure the rest of the room is spic and span to pull it off as an intentional look and not just a lazy morning. I love this trend for making a guest bedroom feel welcoming and comfortable.

Asymmetry: Summer calls for lots of open space. Air it out without leaving it empty with asymmetri-cal decor, like these off-kilter embroidered throw pillows.
Have a great, summery week!
