tea tin flowers | beach blanket | overnight bag | champagne | essie peach daiquiri | essie mod squad | essie mint candy apple
Is there anything better than a summer weekend? I think not! Here’s what I have on my agenda…
Searching for vintage tea tins to re-purpose into pots for my mini herb garden. Pulling the trigger on this beach blanket which will be the perfect accessory for Jazz in the Garden. I’m making a point to attend at least once this summer! Packing for our upcoming trip to the Cape and Maine (counting down the days!) Hunting down this perfectly patriotic bottle of bubbly to sip on my very favorite holiday of the entire year. Painting my nails one of the punchy hues I picked up during Ulta’s buy 2 get 1 free sale on Essie polish.

I’m completely enamored with these photos from Margherita Missoni’s recent nuptials to her race car driver beau, Eugenio Amos, in Brunello, Italy. Her custom made frothy floral gown, the heart shaped cake topped with fresh raspberries, and the casual al fresco seating (bedecked in Missoni of course) are gypset perfection. Would you expect anything less from fashion royalty?
Vase Chinois | Sea Weed | Bloom in Sag Harbor
Wayne Pate’s eponymous shop is one of my favorite’s to peruse. And, as you know from yesterday’s One Room Challenge post, I have art on my mind! I’d love to hang his Vase Chinois among my collection of blue and white porcelain. Sea Weed is another favorite because it reminds me of Matisse’s cut-outs.
If those options aren’t enough for you, check out his prints section for more beautiful pieces from artists like Bella Foster. I think my options for expanding my art collection are looking quite good!
A few weeks ago, I was asked to participate in “The One Room Challenge” with nineteen other bloggers (see their links at the end of this post). The challenge is to re-do one room in our house over a six week time period, sharing our progress along the way. I was excited about the opportunity and knew the time limit would keep me accountable! As much as it kills me to post ‘befores’ without beautiful ‘afters’ to share, here we go..
As a renter, I’m somewhat constrained in the updates I can make to our space. More importantly, as a twenty-something, my decorating budget is a bit modest. That being said, I wanted to choose a space that would make a big impact but wouldn’t require a huge financial investment.
I decided to push the definition of room in “One Room Challenge” and decided my room would be our stairwell. With 13+ ft high walls, I knew I had an opportunity to make this space something special!
-Paint, paint, paint!
-Update light fixture
-Invest in artwork
-Create a gallery wall
Deciding on a paint color and re-painting the space will be the first step I tackle. Check back next Wednesday to see my progress!

I always look forward to emails from 1st Dibs. They have the most fascinating articles on my favorite tastemakers and truly do showcase “the most beautiful things on earth.” Style Compass is always the highlight for me.
Recently, India Hicks, one of my personal style icons, was featured. I’ve posted about her charmed life before and you’ve likely seen her Harbour Island home in Lonny but I just can’t get enough.
Her easy, breezy coastal style is equal parts classic elegance and island charm. A winning combination in my opinion. Her custom colored coral faced Rolex is the perfect example. Oh what I’d give for that beauty..
