Happy holiday weekend! Do you have special plans? I’m soaking up the last few days of summer at home on Cape Cod and there’s really no place I’d rather be. I’ll definitely be indulging in one last order of fried clams and as many trips to the beach as possible before summer slips away.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Please excuse me, I’m about to get a bit seasonally schizophrenic, but I couldn’t resist posting these photos from the Sheridan French Spring 2013 Lookbook. As excited as I am for fall, I think I might be okay bypassing it (and winter too!) if it meant I could gallivant around in Sheridan’s gorgeous designs.
Sidenote: are you ready to get a bit jealous? That gorgeous model in the first and third photos is Sheridan French! In addition to being seriously talented in the sartorial department, she’s also a mom of three little cuties. Superwoman? I think yes! Check out her blog for a great read, and of course, visit Sheridan French online for some seriously chic clothes.
For the next ten hours my life will look a little bit like this (sans the pup and cute convertible, but with arguably as much luggage!) I’m selling my car, and my Dad was nice enough to fly to DC and join me for its last road trip home to the Cape. I’m looking forward to a little father-daughter time and will try my hardest to not beg to stop at every roadside antique mall that looks like it might have my next greatest find.
Have a great day!
I’m thrilled to feature Kimberly Lewis in this month’s Style Snapshot. Kimberly is the owner of Kimberly Lewis Home, a Brooklyn based design studio specializing in playfully patterned home furnishings. You may recognize her designs from the pages of House Beautiful or this month’s Manifesto Magalog. I’m so inspired by Kimberly’s work and loved working on her snapshot below. I hope you’ll enjoy learning more about Kimberly!
My definition of style is… colorful, classic, girly
I’m endlessly inspired by… vintage textiles, flea markets, Pinterest
No home should be without… artwork. Whether it is family photos or affordable prints. Artwork doesn’t have to come with a high price tag!
Best piece of business advice you’ve been given… The more you try the more chances you have to succeed.

My dream project is… partnering with a bigger brand and collaborating on a line of products
I’m most proud of… launching Kimberly Lewis Home
The one indulgence I can’t live without is… cheese!
If you had to pick a favorite Kimberly Lewis Home pattern it would be… Sierra in Cadmium
I’ve noticed a trend in the images I’ve been adding to my files lately: black and white checkerboard floors. It all started with the second image. Anyone recognize it? It’s the entryway of The X’s Upper East Side apartment in The Nanny Diaries. Andrew Baseman did a phenomenal job with the set design- I’ve been obsessively searching for more photos since watching the movie last weekend!
It wasn’t too long before I had another black and white favorite to add to my files. This week’s 1st Dibs Style Compass with Lorenzo Castillo brought me the stunning patio in the first photo. How chic would you feel lounging on one of those rattan settees?
Perusing Pinterest led me to the entryway in the third photo designed by Elizabeth Dinkel. I love the glimpse of De Gournay wallpaper down the hall. Who wouldn’t be happy to come home to that view?
What do you think? Are you as ready to rip up your hard wood and install black and white checkerboard floors as I am?
