At the advice of quite a few of you (thanks for the tip!), I made a visit to the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town, VA last weekend. It was so much fun to meander through all of the artists’ studios, but Tory Cowles studio was by far my favorite. I was immediately taken with her colorful abstracts. The first painting above was on display when we we visited and is so stunning in person. It’s huge!
I’ve always wanted to check out the Torpedo Factory – I’ve heard it’s wonderful!

I’m so glad you had a chance to check it out! I think it’s one of the best treasures of the DC area. I’m loving these Tory Cowles paintings. They’re so fun and vibrant. I don’t know if I could choose a favorite artist in the TF (every time I go, I discover new favorites!), but lately I’ve been drawn to the darker studio of Rosemary Covey.
