Growing up, my generation was told that we could do or be anything we wanted. It just required hard work. When you encounter someone who doesn’t exactly share that opinion it can be a bit jarring. Last week I had exactly that experience.
In light of that, this is my new motto.
Ignore the naysayers and charge full steam ahead!
I feel like i’ve encountered that a lot recently, or perhaps just more sensitive to it these days. but i love this motto, i’m reading some Ayn Rand right now in fact.
Ayn Rand is wonderful. I loved Atlas Shrugged. A little lengthy, but well worth it!

It’s hard to believe that even after a Black President, NASA landing a rover on Mars and the most decorated Olympian of all time is under 30…that people still believe you can’t do anything that you put your mind to.
