If you were to visit my apartment, one thing you might notice is that I’ve unintentionally amassed a mini safari of animal art. My menagerie currently includes: one rhino, one giraffe, and one flamingo. Don’t worry, they’re spread throughout different rooms!
Yesterday I popped into the new Jonathan Adler store in Georgetown and was immediately drawn to two large scale portraits of exotic birds by artist Leila Jeffreys. One more piece of animal art might take my apartment from eclectic to crazy, but these were too beautiful not to share.
I love how the artist was able to capture so much personality and expression in these portraits. Plus, the colors are just stunning. Nature really does offer the best inspiration.
P.S Visit me at La Dolce Vita today for my second Style Spotting column. I’d love to hear what you think!

I just featured her work a couple weeks ago on my blog. As an interior design buff who is a zoologist I REALLY love it!
