I recently discovered these photographs by Biodisc via Art.com and have been trying to narrow down my favorites from their overwhelming 600+ options ever since. The colors and patterns are striking, but what’s most interesting is that these photographs are actually cross-sections of different plant species.
Brings you right back to Biology class, right? Actually, I don’t remember seeing anything nearly as beautiful as these under my lens in Bio. Maybe if I had, I would have dreaded lab just a little less. The photos above are birch, ephedrawood, basswood, and radish tap root, but I’d highly recommend checking out their archive. With over 600 to choose from, you’re bound to find a favorite.
