After a record breaking (not in a good way) twelve hour drive we finally made it to the Cape. We’ve been beaching and boating, doing lots of reading–which usually leads to a little napping–stuffing ourselves with seafood and ice cream and savoring the moments of doing absolutely nothing at all.
In between all of that, I’ve also been doing a little decorating. As I mentioned earlier this summer, my parents enlisted my help in re-decorating their home so while I’m here I’ve been doing some work on that front. The larger projects are moving forward and I’ve been re-arranging and styling rooms that just need a few superficial changes.
The mudroom was my first victim. Existing art, furniture, and accessories were re-located from various rooms to give the space a completely new look. The one purchase we will me making is this John Robshaw for Duralee fabric which will be used for pillows on the bench opposite the console shown in these photos.
I’d love to know what you think!
P.S that lobster buoy in the first photo is one of my great-grandfather’s that my mom found at a flea market. It has his name on it and everything. How serendipitous is that?!
