Last Thursday I made my first trip to Charlottesville, VA to co-host the grand opening of the Barrack’s Road Kate Spade New York store with InStyle–more on that tomorrow! I was only in the area for a little more than 24 hours, but thanks to the help of The Scout Guide, I was able to map out the places I wanted to hit and come home with a few treasures.
And George was at the top of my ‘must visit’ list and deserves a post of its own. I must have circled the store at least five times and only by exercising super human will power was I able to walk away with just the scallop rimmed julep cup above. That store alone is worth the 2.5 hour drive from DC!
If you’ve been reading for awhile you’ve probably caught on to the fact that I have a thing for tortoiseshell (remember my ice bucket?) which explains why this $3.50 tortoise matchbox was probably the best cheap thrill I’ve found in awhile. It was a struggle not to go overboard and buy the matching napkins and towels. Tortoise everrrywhere.
