My love of color and pattern is well known, but every once and awhile I come across a neutral space that’s so well done, I consider doing a complete 180 in favor of a more restrained palette. Those were exactly my thoughts last night when I was getting lost on the beautiful site of Australian based stylist and photographer, Kara Rosenlund.
These photos of her Brisbane home will definitely be filed away in the inspiration folder. Sometimes I find neutral spaces to be a bit institutional, but Karen’s light filled home is anything but. A well layered mix of textures and objects collected over the course of Kara’s travels make for a warm and inviting home.
I admit that I might not be ready to commit to a life with minimal color just yet, but I do think I need a Moroccan wedding blanket after seeing that second photo. This one will be pretty perfect, don’t you think?
