If there’s one type of project I would love to do more of in the future, it would be children’s rooms. Clients tend to be more open to injecting color, pattern, and a bit of whimsy into these spaces which, as you might have picked up on, is kind of my main jam. The freedom to be playful is refreshing.
As much as I love a playful space, I’m also inspired by children’s spaces that feel a little sophisticated too–spaces that I imagine reflect the parents’ style and flow with the rest of the home rather than screaming ‘you are about to enter a world of plastic toys’. The rooms above attracted me for exactly that reason. Interesting color combinations feel youthful, but the fabric, wallpaper, and furniture choices are more luxe.
Obviously not having children myself, I realize that these rooms most likely fall into the aspirational, borderline unrealistic category–that third room is Molly Sims’ nursery–but they sure are beautiful, no?
