My sister went to college in Viriginia where she met her boyfriend, a good old Southern boy who loves to hunt and fish. When the picture texts started coming through showcasing her new outdoorsy lifestyle (in waders on the lake, camo-d out duck hunting) naturally I did what any loving older sister would do and teased her relentlessly. We jokingly coined her new style prep-neck–a little bit preppy, a little bit redneck–and for Christmas I gifted her this camo LL Bean boat and tote monogrammed in hot pink.
All teasing aside, I’ve totally come around on the camo trend. I view it the same way as I do leopard print. Leopard can go wrong (think Snooki) just as easily as camo can go Duck Dynasty, but when done right, both prints are undeniably chic. If you need convincing, I’d suggest you check out the way Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific incorporates camo into her looks. Her feminine with an edge style is always on point.
So what do you think, are you with me on this one? I plan to ease into it with those amazing calf hair smoking slippers.
