The Pursuit of Style
Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to ringing in 2014. We’re driving back to DC today and I’m feeling so relaxed after taking a week off. Since there are only a few days left to save on reservations and gift certificates to The Inn at English Meadows I wanted to share some photos from our visit which ended up being pretty special.

The Inn is a quick three hour drive from the Cape so we headed up the day after Christmas and arrived at a postcard perfect scene. Big fluffy snowflakes were falling and the Inn was still decorated in its holiday best. We caught up with Liz (who owns and runs the Inn with her husband Eric) and got settled into our beautiful room.

We were one of the few guests that night due to the snowy weather and Liz had kindly upgraded our room to theĀ Tack Room Suite which is surrounded on three sides by windows which makes you feel as though you’re snuggled inside a snow globe. With the fireplace lit and a big comfy bed covered in luxe linens you’d have a hard time finding a more inviting room (especially when you see the spa-like bathroom!)

Somehow we managed to leave the comfort of our room and headed downtown to visit some of our favorite shops and ended up at the beach. If you follow on Instagram you already know how this story ends… with a ring on my finger! We’re engaged and couldn’t be more thrilled! (P.S I wish I could say that photo was staged but I was totally caught in the act of admiring the new addition to my ring finger ha!)

Thanks to Liz’s recommendation, we ended the night with celebratory French 75s, whiskey and dinner at The White Barn while a piano player played our song. The next morning Liz whipped up one of her delicious three course breakfasts (banana nutella muffins, greek yogurt with mandarin orange slices, and apple walnut pancakes) and we celebrated some more with bellinis.

I think it’s safe to say that our Kennebunkport visits will continue to be something we look forward to annually! If you’re planning a visit to Maine I hope you’re able to take advantage of the offer below because I really can’t recommend The Inn at English Meadows highly enough!

Here’s the deal:
Mention PS for 20% off any reservation made for 12/29/13 – 4/30/14 OR add 20% to any Gift Certificate purchased in December.

P.S check out this post for photos from our stay in August!

  1. Eek! Congratulations and best wishes to you!! And what a lovely place to spend such a special time! (P.S. I just peaked at Instagram to see the ring, and oh my goodness, yours is spectacular!)

  2. How exciting, congratulations!!
And it looks like such a beautiful inn, we spend a lot of time in Maine over the summer and it is great to find out about new places!

  3. Congratulations! What a beautiful setting to celebrate such a special occasion. I love your engagement day outfit, where did you get your fur collar?

  4. Congratulations!!! This made me tear up because I just moved away from Kennebunkport to Texas. I Loved it there as I went to undergraduate college at the University of New England, and now off to graduate school. My family goes to that area every summer, and every December for Christmas Prelude events that are very festive for the season. :-)
