In the winter I’m completely guilty of going into hibernation mode. I’m embarrassed to admit exactly how much time has been spent in yoga pants and an oversized sweater. With the Polar Vortex, this winter has made me even more of a recluse. Why go outside when I could be warm and perfectly content snuggled up reading The Goldfinch? (P.S tore through it in 3 days–so good!)
As great as it’s been checking things off my reading list, there’s only so long you can stay cooped up before going stir crazy. Craving some fresh air and a respite from gray skies, we ended up at the Botanic Gardens. If you’re in DC and have been feeling at all similarly, it’s a must visit.
In my humble opinion, the glass conservatory is one of the most beautiful buildings in DC, and with the citrus trees ripe with fruit in the garden court and the palm fronds reaching skyward in the jungle room, you’ll easily be transported to a balmier climate.
