I promise The Pursuit of Style will not turn into a wedding blog and this is the last peep about dresses you’ll hear from me until after October 11, 2014; but how often do you get to be in the presence of such exquisite couture?
I stepped into my very first dress ever at Gabriella New York which is a jewel box of a shop with fantastic customer service if you’re looking for a more intimate experience (which I quickly learned was much more my style after a chaotic visit to a more well known salon where I did not say yes to the dress) and snapped the photos above from their stunning collection.
I never imagined I’d be attracted to overly adorned dresses–Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s simple but classic bias cut silk dress was more my m.o–but when done right (Jenny Packham I’m looking at you!) the effect is breathtaking. My engagement ring is a 1920s French estate piece so I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised I loved the art deco inspired beading on the dress in the last photo as much as I did.
Ultimately I decided to go in a different direction, but hopefully this bit of bling brightened up your Tuesday!
