Block Shop

I spend way too much time online–kind of comes with the whole blogging territory–but when I come across amazing small businesses like Block Shop it makes it all worth it. What did we do before the internet put the world at our fingertips?

The art of block printing fascinates me. I even bought a few hand carved wood blocks at Brimfield last year and fully intended to start block printing my own fabric and wrapping paper–hasn’t happened yet.

Founded by sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman, Block Shop works with a cooperative of master printers in India to produce their beautiful hand printed, vegetable dyed scarves (you can see the whole process here.) Their designs put a modern twist on an ancient textile tradition and I couldn’t be more of a fan.

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on the Zipper scarf because sometimes you have to treat yo’ self and I think the colors are just perfect for spring. If The Pink City is also on your bucket list, don’t miss Lily and Hopie’s guide to Jaipur. I immediately pinned it to my Destinations board and sincerely hope I’m able to put their suggestions to use sooner rather than later!

  1. So happy to see this posts. A few months back I came across Block Shop’s site and loved their scarves but resisted my urge to purchase then. Then time went on and I forgot the name of the brand and couldn’t find their site. (So now I will be sure to bookmark the site so it never happens again haha.)
I currently looking for some fun scarfs to brighten up my spring wardrobe, and these would be just perfect! I think I think the arrow one is at the top of my list.

    • Thank you Nan (and thank you Lindsay for the lovely, LOVELY post!)- Hopie and I are about to launch a Mother’s Day Sale with free shipping- sign up for our newsletter on our site so you don’t miss out! We’d adore to get a Block Shop scarf on you for spring.

Thanks for all the lovely comments, everyone! We are so flattered to be on Lindsay’s gorgeous blog.

xoxo Lily and Hopie from Block Shop

  2. This is a wonderful find! I haven’t really heard of block printing before but these colors and prints are AMAZING. Nan is right, one of their scarves would be a perfect accent piece for a spring outfit!

  3. I’ve had the papaya herringbone scarf for a while now and I love it! Can’t recommend these highly enough. Trying to decide which one to go after next…
