I spend way too much time online–kind of comes with the whole blogging territory–but when I come across amazing small businesses like Block Shop it makes it all worth it. What did we do before the internet put the world at our fingertips?
The art of block printing fascinates me. I even bought a few hand carved wood blocks at Brimfield last year and fully intended to start block printing my own fabric and wrapping paper–hasn’t happened yet.
Founded by sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman, Block Shop works with a cooperative of master printers in India to produce their beautiful hand printed, vegetable dyed scarves (you can see the whole process here.) Their designs put a modern twist on an ancient textile tradition and I couldn’t be more of a fan.
I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on the Zipper scarf because sometimes you have to treat yo’ self and I think the colors are just perfect for spring. If The Pink City is also on your bucket list, don’t miss Lily and Hopie’s guide to Jaipur. I immediately pinned it to my Destinations board and sincerely hope I’m able to put their suggestions to use sooner rather than later!
