Souza Speace Martha's Vineyard Wedding

Six months and two days ago on a rainy Saturday on Martha’s Vineyard I married my best friend. As the memories start to fade into a soft focus it feels like an eternity ago, but what I remember most and hope to always carry with me is the delirious happiness I felt that day.

Last week, Martha Stewart Weddings took us right back to that October weekend by featuring our welcome clambake and wedding. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite photos captured by the talented Kate Headley Photography which didn’t make the cut.

Special thanks to the amazing team of vendors who brought our vision to life, and also to my mother who really should have her own credit on this list for patiently helping me collect everything from brass candle sticks and blue and white ginger jars, to mussel shells straight from the beaches of Maine. It really was a labor of love, but one that I promise I won’t make anyone repeat. 😉

View the features here and here for more details from the weekend.

  1. Love all the details of your wedding! I am having a seaside destination wedding and would like to welcome guests with hotel bags. What did you put in your welcome bags???
Could you please share your source for the white coral. Thanks

    • Hi Mary, because our wedding was over a holiday weekend we weren’t able to secure a room block at one hotel and had guests at several different hotels and private homes on the island. I really wanted to do welcome bags but in the end realized it would be so much work figuring out where each guest ended up booking and having the bags delivered so I had to let that dream die 😉 I was planning to include turkish towels in shades of blue with the standard snacks, day after kit, etc. The coral is from a shell shop I found online.

  3. Gorgeous photos Lindsay! Question- were those blue monogrammed bags your bridesmaid gifts? They are adorable and I can’t decide what on earth to get mine- can you share where are they from?

    • Thank you! Yes, they were my bridesmaid gifts. They are jewelry rounds from Leontine Linens. They’re so awesome for travel- I’ve had one for 6+ years now and I love it! They do have a long lead time though so order early. 🙂
