What do you do when you wake up at 5:00AM and can’t fall back asleep? Go for a run? #nope. Recommit yourself to reviving your much neglected blog, of course! So, hello. I’m back. At least until the next time I find myself drowning in a sea of fabric memos and architectural plans. 😉

As we’ve been preparing to host my family for Thanksgiving it dawned on me that we’ve hit the six month mark in our (not so) new house. I vacillate between being impressed by how far we come to feeling like we’re never going to “get there”. Above is a peek at our living room–the least done room in the house–but one that make me so happy because of its cheerful pink walls. The conch shell is a souvenir smuggled back from a recent trip to Tulum. More photos from that slice of sunshine on Insta.

I’ve been missing this outlet lately and and am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, though I admittedly do feel this weird tension between wanting to share and wanting to keep some things under wraps when it comes to decorating our own house so we’ll see how that shakes out.

Out of curiosity – do you still find yourself reading blogs these days or are you spending more of your time on Insta, Insta Stories, Snapchat and the like?

  1. As much as i’m addicted to instagram and scrolling through all the beautiful photos on my feed, I definitely look forward to reading my blogs every morning! I love the discussions each designer/blogger start, reading about their design process, updates on project, and whats inspiring lately. I also rely on my blogs this time of year for the gift guides!

    Keep doing what your doing!!!

  2. Welcome back! While I do like pretty pics I do miss the ongoing conversation of the blog and continue to read them. There is a sense of intimacy that comes with a blog you cannot get with insta. Love the slice of your living room. What color is the paint as it is simply delightful? Best to you and your family at Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season!

  3. Hey there Lindsay! I am still reading blogs everyday. But typically ones that have more than just pretty pictures. Those are falling by the wayside, with the ease of Instagram. I am more interested in content on the blogs now, to accompany any pictures…

  4. I definitely love blogs. They tend to come with stories and thought processes that you can’t really get with instagram. There are so many blogs out there and I follow way too many that I’m forever trying to catch up, but I love it! I love reading blogs so much that I started my own. Love yours, by the way.
