As a longtime fan of both kate spade new york and InStyle, I was so thrilled to be a part of last week’s grand opening celebration at the new kate spade new york boutique in Charlottesville, VA. It was so much fun getting decked out for the evening (I loved the hot pink Vail and Villa dresses but ultimately went with the leopard Paulina paired with my sparkly Charm heels) and getting to mix and mingle with some of you!

Second to the clothes, the best part of shopping at a kate spade new york boutique is the design inspiration, and the Barrack’s Road location is a complete jewel box! I fell hard for their pale pink wallpapered dressing room (can anyone name that paper–I’m dying to use it!) with its chocolate velvet curtain and of course, no one does a gallery wall better than KSNY.

With each customer I chatted with, my wish list seemed grew exponentially. Their new Beau bag is high up there on that list along with this pair of Happy heels. Never a minimalist when it comes to accessories, I also admired the Give it a Twirl and–because I have the worst vision ever–got a kick out of the Goreski Glasses bangle.

Thanks so much to everyone that came out and special thanks to kate spade new york and InStyle for having me. If you’re in Charlottesville, give those adorable ladies above a visit and they’ll take care of you!

SEPTEMBER SCRAPBOOK

September Scrapbook | The Pursuit of StyleKids | Apples | Joie Daydreaming Flats | Bedroom | Michael Kors Miranda Tote | Fig Mascarpone Pistachio Tart | Madewell Beckwith Sweater | Tommy Hilfiger Ad

I’m still kind of in denial that summer’s over (which explains why September’s scrapbook is coming to you a week late) but even though I’m not quite over the fact the pool’s closed for the season, I am getting excited for Fall.  Bring on the fisherman’s sweaters, tartan and let’s go apple picking!

AUGUST SCRAPBOOK

The Pursuit of Style

Girl w/ Inner Tube | Hydrangeas | Hammock | Anthropologie Tortoise Sunglasses | Sailboats | Ancient Greek Sandals | Veuve Cliquot Ballons | Oscar de la Renta Tassel Earrings | White Jeans

How is it August already? I always look forward to August with equal parts anticipation and equal parts anxiety. Anticipation because my birthday is the first week of August (not sure I look forward to those quite as much anymore–27 is a big one!) and anxiety because I never want the summer to end. Here’s to squeezing as much summertime fun into the next 31 days! I’m off to the Cape bright and early tomorrow so I think I’ll be off to a good start.

P.S if I was going to buy myself a ridiculously indulgent birthday present those Oscar de la Renta tassel earrings might just be it!

JUNE SCRAPBOOK

June Scrapbook | The Pursuit of Style

Shells | Wedding | Popsicles | Juicy Couture Beach Tote | Peonies | Soludos Ikat Espadrilles | Beach | Chance Striped Boatneck | Gwyneth

So admittedly I’m a few days late on this one, but I thought it might be fun to start putting together monthly scrapbooks. Just a collection of beautiful photos and items to set the scene for that month. Summer is by far my favorite season so June seems like the perfect month to start.

To me, June calls to mind…the promise of many trips to the beach and a bag that’s always at least half packed, wedding season, white dresses of a more casual variety, wear until they fall apart basics like espadrilles and breton stripes, al fresco entertaining, pitchers of refreshing drinks, peonies, fruity treats, Father’s Day, boats back in the water, and turquoise jewelry on newly tanned skin.

Welcome, June!
