Today’s the big day! It’s pretty much a guarantee that I’ll spend the day counting down the hours until tonight’s big One Kings Lane sale (6:00PM PST/9:00PM EST!) so to pass the time I thought I’d share this photo of our apartment I took for the event. The OKL team asked for a photo that represented our taste so I styled up this little corner that happens to feature a few of my favorite things.

Truth be told, I feel wayy out of my league to be included in a group of such talented people with serious design creds (umm have you seen Mark D. Sikes’ House Beautiful cover or Bailey’s homes in Matchbook and Rue?!) but I’m just going to go with it and be flattered–I’ll probably be shopping the other bloggers’ items right along with you!

SUNDAY STYLE

Apologies for the late edition of Sunday Style but I have a good excuse… apparently my laptop wanted to partake in some St. Patrick’s Day festivities and guzzled up a good amount of the beer I might have accidentally spilled near it. The good news is that my hard drive survived. The bad news is that I had to buy a new Macbook Pro. Nevertheless, we’re back in business!

This week I was really really excited about Oscar de la Renta’s new tabletop collection with Miles Redd. I’m a huge admirer of Oscar de la Renta and Miles Redd just so happens to be one of my design idols so to me, this duo can do no wrong.

Speaking of awesome collaborations, one of my favorite illustrators, Caitlin McGauley, is having a pop-up shop at one of my favorite shops, Furbish Studio. Apparently the stars have aligned this month with all of these dream partnerships!

Pom poms are back! Ever since spotting this Maira Kalman quote among the new arrivals at Furbish I’ve been noticing pom poms everywhere. Definitely not a complaint because I happen to think they’re pretty great in their own playful way.

I’d love to see these pillows in a children’s room and think this necklace is gorgeous if you’re willing to go bold. If you prefer your poms a little more subtle visit Albertina’s etsy shop for adorable pom pom pouches or check out this Serena & Lilly throw.

Love them or hate them, you have to admit everything looks a little more festive when pom poms are involved!

TUCKERNUCKING

Lately the weather in DC has been suffering from multiple personality disorder. We went from gearing up for an epic snow storm (turned out to be an epic fail) to enjoying clear blue skies and 60 degree temperatures in the course of a week! Always being one to take advantage of warm weather, my white jeans were on and my nails painted a fresh minty shade before the thermometer even hit 50. Whoops, too soon?

Brody, our golden retriever, was also pretty happy with the situation because it meant taking a much longer walk around the neighborhood than usual. Plenty of time to to do some real estate stalking and take a few pics of my new Isabella Item Tote from Tuckernuck.

I was super excited to partner with Tuckernuck because 1. they’re based in DC (shop local!) and 2. their fresh take on classic American style completely complements my own aesthetic. Here’s the true testament though, I’ve shopped with them before! This monogrammed Sunday Bag was in heavy rotation before the Isabella came into my life. Both are roomy, have zippered interior pockets–a must have in a tote– and are sophisticated in their simplicity. Somehow they make lugging various fabric, wallpaper, tile, and finish samples around look a little more chic!

Next up on my wish list: this ASHA zodiac ring I’ve been coveting for almost a year, this amazing Egyptian revival hieroglyphics bracelet, and this bikini from one of my favorite fabric designers, Manuel Canovas. Happy shopping!
