POLISHED

I would never forget to schedule a manicure again if I had this adorable illustration by Samantha Hahn. I love that it’s a little Warhol-esque, don’t you? The furthest to the left in the second row looks like it could be Chanel’s Rive which I blogged about in my blue post. With this beautiful weather we’ve been having in DC, I’m thinking it’s time to transition from my current favorite, Lollipop by Essie, to something a little lighter. No sure if I’m ready for Rive yet though. What are you wearing these days?

THE SKY’S THE LIMIT

With a new job lined up and a few other exciting things in the works, I’m feeling like the sky is the limit lately. What better color than sky blue to celebrate the notion of limitless possibility? Both serene and stylish, you really can’t go wrong with this hue (perhaps with the exception of 80s eyeshadow which should be avoided at all costs!)

UPDATED CLASSICS

I was more than pleasantly surprised when a recent search for a vintage copy of Breakfast at Tiffany’s lead me to Emma Tina’s shop. I’ve always appreciated an updated take on the classics and her illustrations of Truman Capote’s novel, Chanel No. 5, and Laudree macaroons are just that!  Now to pick a favorite…

COCO’S CUFFS

What image of Chanel is complete without her trademark strands of pearls? Iconic and elegant, I’m sure we’re all thankful to Chanel for popularizing the look. Lately though, I’m more interested in her lesser known signature pieces. A girl after my own heart, Chanel was not shy about rocking some serious statement jewelry and wore one of these Verdura maltese cross bangles on each wrist. Verdura is definitely not in my price range–nor am I brave enough to sport the double cuff–but these versions above from Kenneth Jay Lane for HSN are quite the convincing copies, don’t you think? I wouldn’t expect anything less from KJL.
