BITS & PIECES

The Pursuit of Style

Liberty of London for J.Crew Bandeau | Jack Rogers Navajo Sandals | Turkish Towel

I got home late last night after an epic bachelorette weekend in Charleston. My brain might still be as fuzzy as the iPhone photo above, but man do I love my friends! The weather was gorgeous, the the company second to none, and our glasses were definitely never less than half full. We danced the night away and spent the next morning laughing still our stomachs hurt.

The bride-to-be and I had a late flight out of Charleston so we went to see The Great Gatsby. The costumes, the music, the party scenes, Leo(!!)–sensory overload in the best of ways! I left the weekend loving my friends even more and with renewed determination to someday call Charleston home. Can’t every weekend be so perfect?

ART LESSON: LULIE WALLACE

I’m completely enamored with the still lifes of Charleston based artist Lulie Wallace. My personal favorite is “Flowers for Abigail” (shown at top) but I’d be thrilled to have any piece of her work hanging on my walls. Let’s add visiting Lulie’s studio to my list of reasons why I need to pack up and move south. To be honest, I hardly need much convincing!

P.S Lulie also has a blog which you should definitely add to your reader– I already have!

CHARMED

I’m back from my trip down south and what a trip it was! We ate and shopped and ate some more–of course while convincing ourselves that we were burning plenty of cals by walking around so much (riiight). Thank you again for your amazing recommendations, everything was spot on. I might not be thanking you while I’m at the gym for a few extra hours this week but it was well worth it! I’m convinced that Charleston is one of the most charming cities around and I’ll definitely be back. Case in point: look at these beach cruisers lined up in front of the Vendue Inn, I’m in love! Excuse me while I take today to re-adjust to the daily grind. Sigh..

CHARLESTON BOUND

I guess I’m not quite ready to commit to the cooler temperatures here in DC because next week I’m headed south to sunny Charleston, SC. It’ll be my first visit to this charming city so I’d be extremely grateful for any and all recommendations. I’ll only be in town for a long weekend so I’d like to pack in as much as possible. So lovely readers… what can’t I miss? I’d love to hear your suggestions on places to shop shop shop, sights to see, and most importantly where to eat!
P.S Brunch at the famed Hominy Grill is definitely on our agenda!
