Knowing that my beautiful new site would be live when I woke up this morning made falling asleep last night almost as impossible as it used to be on Christmas Eve. So here I am, unwrapping the best present this little blog has ever been given: a major face lift!
I’m thrilled with the final result and sincerely hope you love it as much as I do. My number one goal throughout the re-design process was making sure the site was truly a reflection of me and my aesthetic. Not someone/something I wished I were or someone/something I thought you wanted me to be, just me.
Boiling yourself down to the basics and refining your personal “brand” is no easy task and I owe many thanks to my friends and family for putting up with my endless “but do you think this is me?” emails and phone calls. There really isn’t anyone who will give it to you straight better than your friends and family!
When it came down to it, a simple script in a vibrant hue just felt right. I thought it captured the timeless but still of-the-moment look I’m always striving for well. I owe a big thank you to Hanna who, as always, was a dream to work with and never fails to inspire me with her endless creativity.
Looking forward to your feedback!
This blog it is a-changing! As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’ve been working with Hanna on a complete re-design of The Pursuit of Style. We’re coming into the home stretch and in just a few days you’ll notice that things look a lot different around here. I’m equal parts excited and anxious. Change can be a little nerve wracking, but I really love the new direction we decided on and can’t wait to get your feedback.
While I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the new design to launch, I thought I’d give you a peek at some of the things on the inspiration board I pulled together for the project. I’m still somewhat amazed that Hanna was able to look at this melee and translate it into a design that well reflects my aesthetic. That’s talent people!
So what do you think, any guesses so far?
After being away from the blog for so long, I knew that a fresh start would require some fresh inspiration. Lately I can’t get enough of German artist Nina Nolte. The painting above is from her series “The Best is Yet to Come”–I can’t think of a more appropriate theme to start off 2012! I’m always searching for statement pieces to add to my jewelry collection and only wish I had snapped up this Kate Spade stunner when it was available. Jackie Kennedy’s equally beautiful sister Lee Radziwill is another icon of mine. Her book Happy Times is currently on my nightstand and offers the most intimate glimpse into the lives of the Bouvier sisters. In 2012 I’m resolving to take care of myself. Getting the requisite 8 hours of sleep should be no problem thanks to my dreamy new D. Porthault Tigre shams. Color and pattern continue to be my biggest sources of inspiration and Quadrille marries the two perfectly. GADABOUT’S “A Horse of a Different Color” note cards have been on my wish list for years. The fact that they continue to inspire me is reason enough to pull the trigger!
P.S Thank you for all of your kind emails and tweets over the past few months. I had no idea how many of you came to love this little blog and am eager to get back to posting!
