Creel & Gow | The Pursuit of StyleForty eight hours in New York was all I needed to get over last week’s slump. I drained my iPhone battery in record time trying to capture every last inspiring detail.

At ABC Carpet & Home I fell in love with a batik chaise and felt my heart beat a little bit faster in the John Robshaw and Madeline Weinrib collections. From there, it was John Derian’s quirky decoupage and recently released furniture line that caught my eye.

An oversize Slim Aarons photo stopped me in my tracks at Mecox Gardens and I finally was able to admire Tulu Textiles in person (among a thousand other lines I love) at Studio Four.

The icing on the cake though, was definitely a stop at Creel and Gow. A veritable cabinet of curiosities and home to the fantastic zebra you see above.

Until next time, New York.

THIS AND THAT: SILVER SPOTS

The Pursuit of Style

John Robshaw Sheesha Pillow (also available in ivory or grey) | Diane Von Furstenberg Alina Studded Pumps

How do you prefer your silver spots, on your pillows or on your toes? John Robshaw’s mirrored pillows have been around for awhile (Olivia Palermo has them in her apartment) but had fallen off my radar until I spied these DVF studded pumps on Shopbop.

Of course as soon as I saw the shoes my obsession with the pillows returned and now they’re right back on my wish list (along with the shoes!) I’m curious, which are you more likely to spend on: your home or your closet? For the past few years I think my home has been winning out. Time to start re-investing in the wardrobe!

P.S if you love the pillows but can’t justify the price tag, check out this pair on etsy. Dead ringers and for a fraction of the price!

GIFT GUIDE 2010: FOR THE HOME

I always look forward to reading the holiday gift guides in my favorite glossies (and now online mags and blogs too!) so I’ve decided to get in on the fun! This week, I’ll be sharing a selection of gifts I’d be happy to give and receive. First up, a collection of seriously stylish accessories for the home…
Untitled
A pair of Pieces Blue Elephants  (1) or an Oomph Tini Table (2) to rest a book and a cocktail.  Iomoi Matches (3) to light a roaring fire or a delicious Diptyque Candle (11). Carthage Lantern (4) for a bit of chinoiserie flair, Kate Spade Camelia Avenue Vase (8) for blooms, and a touch of zebra for the coffee table Furbish Ottoman Tray (5). Deck the walls with a Hugo Guinness ‘Beautiful’ Print (9) or
Mariska Meijers ‘Graphic Blossom’ (10), the couch with a Turquoise Pom Pom Blanket and Calypso Leopard Pillow, and set the table with a punch of color Pomegranate Inc. Raffia Placemats (13). Then, after a night of celebrating, snuggle up in block printed John Robshaw Bedding (7).

I hope you enjoyed the first gift guide, there are many more to come!
