A NEW FALL PALETTE

I came across this amazing necklace at one of my favorite online shops, Cerulean. The color combo of pink, orange, purple and gold isn’t your typical fall color palette but I’m loving it and will definitely be  incorporating it into my wardrobe. The best part… it’s only $42.00!
Happy shopping!

PROJECT INSPIRATION FROM TOBI FAIRLEY

Who doesn’t love a good before and after? Tobi Fairley recently shared these shots on her blog and they might be the best I’ve seen in awhile! The orange and turquoise desk area is absolutely gorgeous– I need those vintage shell prints! Perfect inspiration for my orange and turquoise bedroom. Not to be ignored, the red and navy stool is pretty fantastic too. The oxford stripe sheets and plaid throw remind me of my boarding school even though I know my dorm room never looked that good!
P.S Tobi is having a summer design camp right now and I’m almost tempted to hop in my car and start driving. Report back if you’re going!

A PEEK AT OUR NEW PLACE: BEDROOM

The housewarming was a success and now that things have calmed down a bit I thought I’d share a few pictures of our bedroom. As you can see, I won the battle with the bf and my peacock chair made the move with us! There are still so many things to be done (like add trim to the curtains) but for having been moved in for only 2 1/2 weeks I’m happy with the way things have come together! Can’t wait to hear what you think.

WEEKEND PROJECT: ORANGE AND TURQUOISE LAMP SHADES

This weekend I decided to tackle a small project that has been on the back burner for wayy too long.
The Inspiration: Beautiful orange and turquoise rooms and fabulous Leontine Linens.

Unknown

The Reality: Z Gallerie Solano Bedding and re-vamped TJ Maxx lamps.

I loved the shape of these lamp bases but hate, hate, hated the shades. After searching for wayy too long for some more stylish shades, I finally decided to make a DIY project out of it.

My first stop was Jo Ann Fabrics where I picked up a yard of inexpensive orange linen fabric. I cut the fabric to the shape of the shade and then got busy with my hot glue gun. I liked the initial outcome but thought it needed a little something extra.
To tie in the turquoise accent color I added some grosgrain ribbon to the bottom. For the minimal amount I spend on the project (around $10) I’m happy with the results!
*The ribbon is more turquoise than the light blue it’s showing in this photo.
I’m still on the hunt for some artwork and a mirror to complete the room. I’m thinking this Keep Calm and Carry On poster from Annechovie’s etsy shop would be the perfect addition above my desk.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions!

ORANGE FOR INSPIRATION

I am a perpetual list-maker. There is something so satistying to me about making a list and gradually crossing off each and every item. As New Years is approaching, and resolutions are already floating through my brain, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect notebook to capture all my lists, thoughts, and inspirations.
Since orange is my favorite color du jour, I was instantly drawn to the Hermes Ulysse MM. We can file this one under wildest dreams unless Santa magically places it underneath my tree.

Coming closer to reality are the gorgeous notebooks from the brights collection at Graphic Image. I’ll have one of each please!

In an attempt to be environmentally conscious, I could scoop up one of these notebooks by Ecosystem. You can find them at Barnes in Noble in every color of the rainbow.

I have one last gift to pick up today and then I’ll be wrapping my heart out by the fire tonight! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas week!
