THE BRIGHTER THE BETTER

Yesterday I mentioned that I’ve been taking inspiration from Tory Burch’s gorgeous boutiques for my own home. I realized it’s been a long time since I’ve shared any photos so I thought I’d give you a peek at something I have in the works. Plus, it just makes me happy. The brighter the better, right?!

POSITIVELY SHOCKING

My cherry red Kate Spade wallet has seen better days and I think it’s time for an upgrade. Rather than going with something “practical” like black, I’m thinking shocking pink will do the trick. Kate Spade and Tory Burch both have great options that I’d love to get my hands on. The Tory Burch is even on sale which makes it all the more enticing. Even if you’re over the shade, (I don’t think I’ll ever be over it), you have to admit that these would never get lost in your purse!

DEJA VU

Last night, while searching for images of Babe Paley, I serendipitously came across this image from the Michael Kors 2009 Resort Collection which drew inspiration from the famed socialite and style icon. I couldn’t help but feel a bit of deja vu and immediately searched my files for the above image from J.Crew’s Spring 2011 Collection. Similar, right? I adore the pink on pink in both ensembles and only wish I had seen those ikat bermudas back in 2009. I’ll just have to hold out for J.Crew’s scalloped shorts and keep my fingers crossed that they’re flattering!

What do you think, are you a fan of pink on pink?

TOBI FAIRLEY’S WHIMSICAL CHRISTMAS TREE

Interior designer extraordinaire, Tobi Fairley, posted this photo of the delightfully whimsical Christmas tree in her daughter’s playroom and I couldn’t resist re-posting. I’m planning on straying a bit from the classic myself this year, and always appreciate those that take a more colorful approach- it’s such great inspiration!
P.S I’m also completely obsessed with this room in general. How gorgeous is the black and white damask with the pink walls? Add the framed silhouette, gourd lamp, and monogrammed pillow and I die!
