TORY’S GLORY

I literally squealed with excitement when I came across these photos of Tory Burch’s New York home on her blog which is one of my daily reads. The photos are from the March issue of In Style which I will be running to the newsstand to pick up on my way to work tomorrow. Have you ever seen a more chic home? Of course not, I mean it’s Tory Burch’s house! I firmly believe that Tory is a modern day style icon and will definitely be taking notes on this feature.  This will have to suffice as my TB fix since regrettably I had to turn down the invitation to her show and blogger’s lunch during Fashion Week because of my new job (you don’t even know how sad I was. I may have even contemplated changing my start date… crazyy!)

P.S Don’t you think she should write a book on style? I’d pre-order immediately!

POSITIVELY SHOCKING

My cherry red Kate Spade wallet has seen better days and I think it’s time for an upgrade. Rather than going with something “practical” like black, I’m thinking shocking pink will do the trick. Kate Spade and Tory Burch both have great options that I’d love to get my hands on. The Tory Burch is even on sale which makes it all the more enticing. Even if you’re over the shade, (I don’t think I’ll ever be over it), you have to admit that these would never get lost in your purse!

MY STYLE DEFINED: A CLASSIC OUTFIT FOR FALL

Untitled

Since you all responded so enthusiastically to this new series (yay!) I thought I’d pull together an outfit incorporating some of my favorite fall classics. J.Crew’s cashmere crewneck tee is without a doubt my staple fall sweater. I’d throw one over a striped tee and pair it with some leopard flats for a more updated look. A Barbour barn jacket is my go-to light weight jacket for fall. Mine has lasted me for years! I’ll definitely be wearing a variation of this outfit once the cooler weather (finally) hits D.C.

PARTY PLANNING

Planning our housewarming party has been the light at the end of the tunnel for me during our move. Who doesn’t love a party? As with most things in my life, I want it to be bright and colorful. I’ve started to collect some inspiration photos and the two above are my current favorites. Pink+orange is such a great color combo. Very Tory Burch, don’t you think? This will be my first attempt at a housewarming party, we never had one for the last apartment, I just didn’t think it was much to show off! Any tips from you seasoned hostesses?
