Umbrellas fall into the category of things I can never have enough of. I’m forever leaving them behind, breaking them on windy days (embarrassing), and always seem to have left mine in the car when I really need it to be in our apartment so I can actually get to the car without looking like a drowned rat–rarely successful.
Generally, umbrellas are accessories that are more about function than form, but One Kings Lane is currently having an April Showers sale and the options are the epitome of rainy day chic. Why shouldn’t you stand out in a sea of black with a turquoise eyelet or cheetah umbrella (I totally bought it for the bamboo handle). Bold not your thing? Dress up basic black with a flirty ruffle.
Pair any of the above with a classic trench and some wellies and you’re ready to go puddle hopping. Hope you’re staying dry with all this wet weather we’ve been having!
It’s raining and gloomy in DC today, but I’m secretly hoping that there is more rain in the forecast while I eagerly await the arrival of my Scalamandre umbrella scored on One Kings Lane. This had been a longstanding item on my wish list, so I was thrilled to see it pop up on sale. If you’re interested in purchasing your own, there are still travel and large sized versions available in the yellow colorway, and the large size is available in the black colorway. I’d still kill to have a bathroom wallpapered in this iconic pattern, but for now, the umbrella will have to do!
